Restoring dignity, one life at a time.

Our story

Founded on a simple belief: no elder should face memory loss alone.

Annai Indra Pengal Munnetra Sangam was founded in 1997 to serve rural and disadvantaged women in the Madurai region. Over the years, the organisation's work brought it close to older women who had no family support — and to the particular challenges of dementia and Alzheimer's.

Today our home at Pothumbu offers a safe, stable environment for 20 women, supported by a care team, visiting medical professionals and the government's AVYAY-IPSrC programme. Families and neighbours remain part of the home's life, joining us for festivals, prayer and ordinary visits.

We believe that memory loss does not diminish a person. It asks more of us — more patience, more imagination, more tenderness — and that is the work we try to do every day.

Our mission

To provide older women affected by Alzheimer's and dementia with a safe, dignified home, skilled daily care, companionship and the respect owed to every human life.

Our vision

A society where memory loss never means loss of dignity, and where older women can age with security, affection and belonging.

What guides us

Values we try to practise, not just publish.

These principles shape how we care for people, spend money and work with families and partners.

Patience

We move at the resident's pace, not ours. Every response begins with listening.

01

02

A secure, well-run home with attentive supervision and reliable medical support.

03

Family

We stay connected to families and create a home where people feel they belong.
